Christmas Countdown: Dec 17 - The Forgotten Carols

In a continuation of my reading, music and tradition topics, Christmas is not Christmas to me without listening to or reading THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS. The Forgotten Carols is a book that started life as a musical written by Michael McLean. It is a beautiful story made with songs that are considered the Forgotten Carols about things related to the nativity story such as the song in the heart of the innkeeper when he turned Mary and Jesus away, Josephs song, the shepherds song, etc. When I was a teenager and lived at home I used to share a room with my sister Megan. During the month of December, Megan and I would listen to the audio tapes of The Forgotten Carols to go to sleep by. So it really does have special and traditional meaning to me. Two years ago the musical theatrical production was in town nearby and I was able to see it performed as well which was really neat. So, if you have not had a chance to hear the Forgotten Carols, do your best to find and listen to them! Here is one from youtube - The Three Kings song - so pretty! The lyrics to each song all have so much meaning too!
