One Month Old!

What - one month already??!!
Yep that's right? Mitchell is already One Month Old!
We celebrated with his first beach trip (: actually it was really for Shayla and our friends who are visiting from out of town (more pics with them this weekend!) . He loves soaking up the sun as you can see from these pics - don't worry it was only for a few minutes!
We are all doing great and love loving on our baby Mitchell (yes we call him Mitchell not Mitch - for now). You cannot see his still crazy hair because of hat, but more pics to come! He is growing big and steady and already 11 pounds according to my scale!!

3 Weeks Old!

Our baby boy is 3 weeks old already!

Wow! Time does fly by faster when you are busy with two kids! These last 3 weeks have been great and Mitchell continues to be such a great baby! His little faces crack me up - he is so endearing (see below)! Can't do anything with his hair (: I have had so much wonderful support from friends and family with meals and helping with Shayla (special shout out to my mom who was here a week and Kellie who has been taking Shayla to preschool and on play dates!). I am starting to feel normal again with very little pain and back to driving - a few more weeks to go though until I get the go ahead to pick up anything heavier than baby, housework, etc.

So today was a great day! It was the first day I ventured out on my own and first time trying driving since Mitchell was born to a St Pattys Day party at the park with my moms group. We started the day off with green milk and green eggs and ham and lucky charms. Leprechauns left Shayla a t-shirt, hat and necklace. We had lots of fun at the park and lots more green goodies! Mitchell did great out and about but he has been sleeping almost all day with the combined car trips and being in the sling at the park so I hope he is not up all night (: Anyway, here are my two cute, adorable Irish kids (they are about 1/8 Irish since I am 1/4 Irish)...

Shayla and Mitchell

Shayla had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of her baby brother for months! She was so excited to finally meet him! I thought she would jump and run to me and say "Mommy" since I had not seen her in 4 days, but when we went to pick her up from a friends house to bring her home with baby she ran straight to the car asking for "where's my baby brother?". She is so gentle and soft with him and even uses a soft baby voice to talk to him. She is so happy he is here and is constantly kissing and hugging him and asking to hold him. Every time I need to change his diaper she runs to get a diaper for him and his pee pee cover (the cover that prevents baby boys from squirting you which I have already found out can be very messy and require clothes and blanket change for all). She has been so sweet (we hope it lasts!). Yesterday she announced "Mitchell is my bestest brother ever..." so precious. Here are a few shots of them together!

Mitchell's First Week

We came home from the hospital on Monday and have been resting and recovering well at home. Shayla loves her little brother and, of course, we all do! He is still such an angel baby - sleeping and eating great for a newborn. My mom is here for the week helping out with everything and it makes such a difference! Thanks mom!
