So we weren't going to do a party this year as we did Disneyland for Shayla's 6th birthday, but we wanted to at least let her have a cake with family, and of course I wanted to let her invite her best friend(s) so we ended up with a fun little Memorial day family BBQ/Birthday Bash! I decided a few days before to actually do a little more than I planned as it was just going to be food and cake, but I wanted to have a but more fun with it so we went with Shayla's favorite thing right now: Cheetah theme - and expanded upon it for a Safari theme.
The burlap banner I think I am going to put in her room since I like how it turned out (and her room is blue cheetah colors)
Cheetah cupcakes - easy to make but after I made them I realized why did I use brown food coloring for the spots - I should have just done chocolate frosting! duh!)

Safari apparel! Each kid got binoculars and a safari hat to go on safari to find all the little animals Shayla had hidden throughout the backyard.
This game was a hit (a version of Duck, Duck Goose - Lion, Lion Cheetah - where each kid had a fabric tail (cheetah ribbon) tucked in their shorts and when you were tagged you had to try to pull the tail of the person you were chasing off)
