Pee Pee Time!

Yesterday was one long day of potty training! From sun up to sun down it was all about the pee pee and poo poo!
I was attempting to use the concepts from Potty Train In One Day book (to teach all basic concepts since Shay has never used the potty before) where the first half of the day she trains the baby doll to use the potty (with real pee - lemonade - and poo - prunes) and the second half of the day is focused on her using the potty.

I am not sure how successful it was, but I know she understands what it means I am just not sure if she has proper bladder control yet at this age or if it is more about me being "trained" to have her sit at the right times (and then is that really potty training). We did everything by the book and Shay did use the potty a few times - yay - but I guess I wonder now what - how many times do I sit her on the potty during the hour, what do we do when we are out and about, and how do I know if she is ready? She did go once this morning too, so that was a good sign. I am going to see how the week goes with accidents vs potty use to figure out if we are ready to have her out of diapers! So wish us luck!

Shayla potty training her dolly (i let her dress herself today, hmm...)

Shayla with her big kid underwear and one of her many drinks of the day in our indoor beach party!

Shayla on the pot showing off her pedicure (one of our many on-toilet activities)

Giving herself stickers for trying (one chart for dolly, one for her).

Needless to say, it really is more about training the parents at this age than anything and takes a lot of patience and practice!

Shay is too cute! So, are you keeping her in regular panties from here on out?

Good Luck. Potty training is one of my least favorite things to do. You'll know when she's ready. It may take a few tries. One day it just clicks for them. Like Magic!
