I am a dog person...

They say there are two kinds of people in this world. Dog people and cat people. I am definitely a dog person. Although we had a dog or two when I was little and we were able to share in the joy of my grandparents dogs when we were living with them, my family had cats when I was growing up. (my parents got 2 dogs shortly after I moved out)... Don't get me wrong, I do like cats too. In fact, I am an animal person altogether and I am sure it was me who convinced my parents to keep the stray cat we found in our garage - and the kittens from a few litters. Actually I know it was me (: We had three cats the last 10 years or so while I was growing up at home - Figgy, Annie and Panther (and Twinkle Toes for a brief moment). Not to mention the various kittens they had from various litters that we had until it was time to find them homes (I think there were about 4 litters total?). Anyway, this post is supposed to be about dogs, but I do like cats too, I just don't think I will own them again but will always have dogs (:

The impetus for this post is that Jon, Shayla and I went to a dog show yesterday. I love going to dog shows and try to go every time they come to our local fairgrounds. So yesterday, we thought it would be fun for Shayla too as she know likes watching our dogs, petting them, and letting them lick her. She enjoyed looking around, but I am sure I enjoyed it more! Anyway, beside a Boxer and American Staffordshire Terrier (AmStaff) - here are my other favorite dog types (there were over 150 breeds at the show yesterday!!!). What's yours???

Argentine Dogo
This is like a white Tyson. They are beautiful dogs, but I probably would not get one as they are more stubborn than AmStaffs (Tyson's breed)

Greater Swiss Mountain Dog
These dogs are so majestic! They are big though! I would consider owning one and I hear they are gentle and sleep a lot!

The French Bull Dog
This is my choice for a small dog and would like to have one one day. They are too cute! This is a photo of a puppy Frenchie - how can you resist this face?

The Bull Staffordshire Terrier (or Staffordshire Bull Terrier)
A half-size version of Tyson! I really wanted one of these as my first dog with Joia, our boxer, but I could not find any breeders that were having litters around that time. They are the coolest dogs ever!

I like afghans and yorkies. I thought I was a cat person until I met Fox! Now I'm not so sure! He is the ultimate cat lover. Have you seen the movie "Best in Show"? It's pretty funny! Love ya!
