We had a joyous Easter week and fun Easter weekend getaway!
We started the weekend with an Easter Egg hunt at church.
Mitchell found lots of eggs!
So did Shayla!
My Easter cuties
Then we hit the road for an Easter get away to Cambria!
On the way we stopped at Oceano Dunes and the kids got a kick that we could drive onto the beach!
Fun times!
Playing on the cold beach!
The Nelsons were here!
The kids brought their new "pet" Dinosaur in the car
We arrived at our hotel - Cambria Pines Lodge - which was so beautiful! Here are the kids on the nature walk around the property! They loved watching out for deers and woodpeckers!
The next day we headed a few minutes north and saw the Elephant Seals. It was molting season so there were only juvenile makes and females on the beach, but still quite a sight to see!
The kids loved watching them!
Nelsons and seals!
Do we have to say goodbye to the seals?
It was such a pretty area!
Then off to Hearst Castle since we were so close to it! I wasn't sure if they kids would like it, but the tour was only 45 minutes so short enough to keep their attention span and they enjoyed running around the property and the bus ride there and back. It is a neat part of history and it is amazing what Mr. Hearst did with his vision!
The kids and the Hearst Castle
Then we hit up Moonstone beach - the tide was high but we still got in some tide pooling!
It was a beautiful day and beach and we got lots of shells!
The next day we went to church in Morro Bay and took a short nature walk after church! Such a beautiful place!
And back home after a stop at firends for Eater dinner! We got home to find the Easter Bunny had visited our home! (Mitchell said "Mom, God must have made the Easter Bunny out of powdered sugar!")
And the kids got to find their Easter baskets!
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!
We are so grateful for the gift of the Atonement in our lives and to know the Savior personally! We try to remember that all season long! The beauty of the nature we saw this Easter weekend really helped us know God loves us so he gave us such a beautiful land to live in!
