Fun Filled Summer Week!

This past week was full of summertime fun, plus Jon' s sister and family were visiting from Utah so we were able to spend lots of time with them as well!

Here are some of the highlights from our week:

MONDAY: Blueberry picking!

Yum, we went to a local blueberry farm to pick fresh blueberries. Shayla and I gobbled them up as we were picking them, they were so good, but it was hot outside so we didn't last long!

At the blueberry farm, there were goats and horse you could feed. I got a bag of carrots for Shayla to feed to the animals, instead she decided that she wanted to feed herself with them - look at the poor goat trying to get Shayla's carrots. When I had her give the goat one she cried and wanted another carrot!

TUESDAY: Beach Day!

We headed down to Leo Carrillo with the cousins, it was fun, but as you can see by Shay's sweatshirt on - it was cold all day!

WEDNESDAY: Family Photos!

All of Jon's family was here, so we got professional photos taken - we can't wait to see how they turn out - we know they will be great!

THURSDAY: Movie Day

All the kids were going to the movies to see WallE so I thought I would try to take Shayla. Bad idea: She did not sit still for 2 minutes and kept wanting to climb the stairs. We ended up outside the theater walking up and down the halls with Shayla saying hi to everyone who walked out of a theater or bathroom. She loved it though and was worn out afterwards from walking back and forth for over an hour!

FRIDAY: Lake Day

We went back to Bass Lake with all the family and had a great time in the water, on the boat, and on the tubes (no, I did not let Shayla on the tubes!). A fun, long day in the sun!

SATURDAY: Biking

I had been wanting to get a bike trailer to ride Shayla around with and we finally got one a week ago with some credit I had at a local bike shop! We went down to Ventura when it cooled down in the afternoon and Jon and I rode our bikes down the beach path with Shayla in tow! She really enjoyed it!
